Hey Everyone!
Well this has been quite the week. I feel like I have been doing
everything but missionary work this week! I don't like weeks like this, it makes
me feel like not a missionary and then I get more homesick and stuff. Not cool.
It all started out with Monday. Remember when I talked about the old fellow
whose house we went and cleaned? Well he passed away on Monday and after we were
done emailing the grandson called and asked if there was anyone who could bring
them meals. Well I called all of the relief society people to no avail and so
there wasn't anyone answering. Finally they got back and said that no one could
take food that night but they would do something for the rest of the week. We
felt bad so we decided to make them some food. We had a ton of stuff to make
spaghetti because along with the 90 lbs of rice someone dropped off enough
spaghetti and sauce to feed an army so we made that and took it over and that
pretty much used up the whole night. Then that night we get a text from the AP's
and the Elders saying that the Elders couldn't find a ride to transfers so could
they please take our car....that meant we would have to walk all day Tuesday
which I am fine with, I am actually getting really good at walking and can walk
like 2 miles in 35 minutes and feel fine. However the closest people we visit
are like 5 miles or more away because we are a driving zone so it kind of killed
our plans for the day. Plus our car is only 3 weeks old and I mean
seriously....Elders taking it all the way to Macon? We knew it wasn't going to
return the same!! That just started Tuesday out. We were supposed to have a meal
with a family at five but we weren't sure if our car would make it back in time!
We called to let them know and they were like freaking out about it but we got
it figured out. Then the Elders called 45 minutes before we were supposed to be
there and said they were an hour behind schedule and wouldn't be there for
another hour at least! So then we had to call and cancel dinner and that made
the lady super mad. Ugh. Then they didn't get our car back until 6:30 and they
had scratched and dented the trunk with the bike rack! It looks awful! Our poor
car! It's not even a month old! We were also late for our 6:00 appointment. That
just started out the week and the whole week went pretty much like that. Sister
Waycott is training this transfer and her trainee is really cool! She is from
Alaska! She says that I can totally come visit her and go hunting/fishing. It's
going to be awesome! We have driven a lot this transfer so we were pretty much
out of miles on our car this week so we decided to redo our map! It looks super
awesome! We even got laminate and made it really pretty looking. Also, funny
story. So we haven't gotten any supply orders for stuff we needed last transfer!
That meant that we didn't have any planners to use for the new transfer! We had
to end up using some spanish planners that we found in the apartment. It has
been super funny. We got supplies this week though so I now have an English
planner again! We were on lockdown Friday and Saturday because there was a huge
rival football game happening in Valdosta so they postponed Halloween to
Saturday. Fun stuff. Lockdown was good, we made the cookie mix it looks
disgusting but it was Halloween, they tasted good. We also did our weekly
planning, played the Book of Mormon card game you sent and then our apartment
just had a "Harry Potter Clue Game" that was left here. I made clam chowder, I
forgot to put in a diced onion but it tasted good anyway. Then when we woke up
Sunday morning the Elders had Colored all over the windows of our car! Seriously
we couldn' t even see. We will get them back though. We are going to be super
nice to them and pretend like we don't care and then in a week or two when they
aren't suspecting it we are going to put glitter and pink streamers all over
their bikes! Oh and Mary took us to lunch at this pizza place on Saturday and it
was super delicious! Probably like the best pizza I have ever had! It was way
good! We also had a really good lesson with the Bush's on Friday. It was funny
because I started out asking if he had any questions and he said "yes" and his
first question was "Is Jesus Christ God?" and I was expecting a question with a
complicated answer so it took me a minute to process that one! I was like well
ya! I guess he was watching some you tube thing and the lady said that if you
ask a mormon if Jesus Christ is God they will always say no. I was glad I passed
that question! I just hope that the whole "Trinity" question does not "rear its
head". Ok so my spiritual thought this week. I was reading in D&C and this
scripture just really popped out to me when I read it! I think its because
sometimes I struggle with loving people and loving my area. I have always
struggled with that though, I really like to build walls around myself! It's a
revelation to Thomas Marsh and it is D&C 112:11 " I know thy heart, and
have heard thy prayers concerning thy brethren. Be not partial towards them in
love above many others, but let thy love be for them as for thyself; and let thy
love abound unto all men, and unto all who love my name."I just really liked the
part where it says "let thy love abound unto all men, and unto all who love my
name." When I read it I just felt like that was something I really needed
to do! It is something that I will be working on! Well I hope everyone had a fun
Halloween! I love you all and hope you have a great week!
Love Sister Price
