I'm Transferred!! March 31, 2014

March 31, 2014

 Hey Everyone!

Well first off I am getting transferred! I have been packing for the last day!  I have accumulated “stuff”! I won't be sister training leader anymore but Sister Wood still is.  I will find out where I am going tomorrow (Tuesday)! We will travel to the Mission Office in Macon and then I will go to my new area and new companion from there.  My feelings are that I will either go to the Tifton zone or the Savannah zone but I could be totally wrong!  This has been a fairly uneventful week.  Another “mission miracle” We met this really cool lady Monday night as we were talking to her the promptings of the spirit was screaming in my head to ask her if she wanted a card and so I did! AND I introduced us as Missionaries from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints also known as the Mormons. She said that she had a friend when she was younger who was LDS!  I asked her if her friend ever talked to her about church and she said yes!  She said that she used to go to church with her friend a lot.  She stopped going however because her parents didn’t like it.  She said she has never found a church she liked as much and she always felt like that was just her “HOME CHURCH”! We asked if she wanted to learn more she said she would love it.  Sadly she is not in our area but that is OK, we got her name and address and number and set up an appointment with her with the Missionaries in the grovetown area!  It was still a great experience in following the promptings of the spirit! We have had a really tough time getting in contact with our investigators this week and one went out of town so we went the whole week without teaching one lesson! It was really sad. We just spent most of our time tracting! We also got kicked out of a few apartment complexes but oh well I’m actually getting used to that now (Sis.Wood and I are pretty intimidating)! This last week we had District meeting and I shared parts of the talk on “Optimism” that you sent me from a BYU devotional and being grateful.  I then shared how Pres. Eyring says to write in your journal in the evening of how we have seen God’s hand in things throughout our day.  Thanks Mom you followed your promptings and sent that talk to me it was great!  Elder Judson gave instruction about doing missionary work and he said “Ya its not always …(he meant to say Rainbows and Unicorns) but it came out “Lollipops and Munchkins”. Same general idea.  Sister Richardson is coming to stay with us on Sunday since her companion Sister Carrigan is going home this transfer, that will be fun.  Sunday the talks were interesting.  We have a fellow who spoke and he loves “Batman” I mean he really loves Batman. He said that there are two things in life I compare the gospel to it is “Batman and weightlifting”.  He is actually helping the Elders work out in the morning since some of them are going home in about 4 months.  You asked about Nick and if he is staying active, he has been working Sundays, we have not seen him in two weeks, but he is really trying to get Sundays off  I think he means it.

Then Saturday was  Womens conference it was awesome! We saw it 8:00 pm our time to see it live.  There was so much of an emphasis on covenants. I love how Sister Wixom talked about how we are changed forever by our covenants and how together we are unstoppable if we cleave to our covenants! I also loved how much they emphasized that we need to help one another and stick together. I loved what Sister Oscarson said about how there is an unbreakable bond between us and nothing is worth losing our compassion and our sisterhood. I also loved the story she told about the little girl who faithfully came to church because her primary teachers loved her. That was a really great story. I loved how Sister Burton talked about how we have been sent here at this time for a reason. How we were prepared before we came and we are here because of who we are and how we need to open our mouths to share the gospel! That seemed to be kind of a theme with her and President Eyring. He also talked about how we were prepared for the things we would do here on earth and how our Heavenly Father sees greater potential in us than we do. I also loved what he said about Eve and how she was wise and brave to make the decision she knew needed to be made. I also cried pretty much the whole time, starting with the opening song! We also had a really awesome combined meeting yesterday. They had the youth in with us also and they talked about the . . . wait for it “New ward mission plan”!!  How great is that for our Ward!!  How we can answer gospel questions. It was really great! The new plan is awesome, they want every family in the ward to invite a family over to their house for dinner with the missionaries there. They also had goals for family history and getting recent converts involved in family history and taking names to the temple and things. Mom you asked how Sister Kayla was doing, she went to the temple on Saturday and she had a good time! I think she is finally feeling comfortable with the young women and she even told her mom she wants to go to girls camp so that is awesome! I can’t believe I’m getting transferred I have been here for 6 months!  It is like leaving Home again!  I have met so many great families! I will miss them, but it is good to make friends and I hope that they will continue the work of sharing the gospel here in Augusta! I feel sort of  “Scatter brained”, like I can’t focus my thoughts!  I remember thinking when missionaries would say “I’ve been out 6 months, I would think well that is a pretty long time, and now it is “ME”.  Our goal for this week was diligence and no Effort wasted.  I have also been doing my own scripture study on the Apostasy.  There is so much in the scriptures about this.  I can’t wait until I can read the book you have Dad on Apostasy by Elder Callister.  There are so many books that I want to read now.  One is “A History of the church”, and I really want the “Lectures on Faith”!  I know I can be a nerd, like my Daddy, I just love learning about things!  Yes one of my suitcases has become for books! At this rate not sure how I am going to get these beloved books home! (so over the weight limit). Being a missionary has helped me remember how much I really do love learning.  After my year long stupor of thought in college, I’m excited to come back and learn all of the things I couldn’t learn before! Wo, I need to tone down my excitement here!

I will try and let you know where I go as soon as I can! I love you all and hope you have a great week!   Oh and not to be forgot “HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY ROBB DEAR”!!

Love,

Sister Price

"MISSION TO INNER EARTH"! March 17, 2014

Hey Everyone!                                                            March 17, 2014

Ok so this certainly has been a very interesting week. Monday we went to try and see Miles but he wouldn't answer the door so we aren't sure what is up with him. Then we went and saw the lady we helped clean up her yard but I just don't think she is ready for our message right now but maybe someday in the future. Tuesday we had district meeting and we talked about contacting!!! It was actually really good. Sister Wood and I have been practicing contacting and stuff like that. The things we talked about we mostly already do but its nice to have a reminder and to know that I am doing the same things as everyone else even if we don't get the same results! Then Tuesday it was so HOT!!! I mean not really but for March it was! It was almost 90 degrees and really humid. I was dying. I'm am so not looking forward to the summer! Oh well I just have to remember that I only have one summer. I can do it. Then Tuesday night we went out with Sister Smith and we wanted to see a lady who was sort of a referral...the scouts helped her clean up her yard! She was super nice and she invited us in and she really got along well with Sister Smith. She had a lot of questions and we didn't actually teach a lesson but she invited us to stop by anytime because she has more questions! She was way nice and I have a good feeling about her. Ok then Wednesday was the really exciting day! Wednesday we were starting exchanges with the Grovetown sisters (Sister Griffin and Sister Walker) right after interviews. We had interviews with President Cottle that day. We were also going out with Sister Rafn Wednesday morning before we did exchanges Wednesday afternoon. She is the wife to our new ward mission leader and she is just so sweet! She is just the kind of person you can't help but like. We have this investigator named Anastasia who we have been working with but we weren't able to contact her at all last week! She wasn't answering the door or any of our phone calls so we were super discouraged. We wanted to go try and see her but we weren't sure if Sister Rafn was the person to take because they pretty much have polar opposite personalities....however we just kept having this feeling we needed to take Sister Rafn! We just couldn't understand it but we decided to just go with it ( always follow the spirit). We go to Anastasia's and we really aren't sure if she is even going to answer but she does answer! It is also super awkward at first and things aren't really going well! I was thinking "Man I knew we shouldn't have brought Sister Rafn" however we just kind of struggled on and hoped that it would get better!(always keep a prayer in your heart and mind)!  We were teaching Plan of Salvation and just kind of seeing how she was. Anastasia had been in the hospital so thats why she hadn't answered the door or her phone. I guess that is a good reason. ha ha. I don't know if I just didn't notice it in Utah but people here go to the ER for everything! Oh I have a cold? Better make a trip to the ER. It is really strange. Anyway so we talked about that and then she mentioned that her grandma was going to arrive shortly (her super Baptist grandma who is an Usher at her church) so that kind of made us think “oh boy this is going to be a short lesson”.  Anastasia’s grandma gets there and she kind of gives us that look (we get "the look" a lot but its kind of hard to explain...like we are trying to convert people to the dark side or something) and then we notice that Sister Rafn is just like STARING at this lady and we were all just kind of thinking” ok this is weird”. Then all of sudden Sister Rafn says "hey I know you....you are the lady my husband and I helped because you broke down"! Turns out that this lady broke down in the middle of the freeway on her way home from Columbia and the Rafn's stopped to help her! We then had an awesome lesson with Anastasia and her grandma about the Plan of Salvation and it totally softened the grandma up. It was awesome and it is just amazing to me how Heavenly Father really does know what he is doing!!  (Always a tender mercy when you trust completely in the promptings of the Holy ghost!)

Then we had interviews with President Cottle. That was fun. I guess missionaries around here are really struggling following the morning schedule (aka getting up at 630) so he asked how Sister Wood and I were doing at that. Sister Wood had already had her interview so he knew how we were doing. I told him fine (because I make Sister Wood get up at 6:15 so we have more time to exercise. I actually have pushed it to 6:11 but don't tell her.) Then I explained that getting up at 6:30 is really easy for me because I used to get up earlier than that to go ride all the time at home!  President Cottle asked “Oh what ride your bike”? Then I said “No to ride my horse then clean my stall and then finish out my day”!  Apparently last time I told him I ride horses it didn't sink in or something and then we started talking about horses. Then I went and got my white handbook because I taped a picture of Gary on the outside of it and he thought it was hilarious that I taped a picture of my horse on my white handbook. He also was really surprised that I got up at 6:00 or before to ride my horse when I was at home...he said “ I usually just rode in the afternoon”!  Anyway we bonded over that and now I think President Cottle “Really Knows” who I am and I think he really likes me. Then we started exchanges! I went to Grovetown with Sister Griffin and it was super fun! They are still brand new there so we visited a lot of less actives and just knocked around in their neighborhoods. It was awesome because I discovered that I really can talk to people! I did great in Grovetown and we had some awesome contacts....I think people in our area in Augusta just aren't very nice. The exchanges went really well. However when we went home for dinner and I looked in their fridge there was nothing there!! It was so sad! They just had a bunch of frozen dinners! It's amazing to me how many Sisters and Elders don't know how to cook simple healthy foods or budget their money so they have enough money to buy food that they can cook! It is just crazy.  Then Sister Wood and I got back together. I really like Sister Griffin and Sister Walker. They are pretty awesome.

The the rest of our week was fairly uneventful until last night. Oh boy. We met the most interesting fellow while we were knocking. It started out well and he was talking about how he read the Book of Mormon and how he was a "searcher" and stuff and then he just started talking about strange things. He started going on about how there is an "inner earth" and that is where God lives and how you can get there by tunneling through the North pole and Antarctica to  Mt. Sinai and how that's really where Moses was taking the children of Israel and lots of just very interesting and unique theories. He talked to us for like an hour and a half about all of this stuff. Oh and reincarnation. I guess we keep having lives until we are perfect and if we have a good life on earth we have the chance to be reincarnated and live in inner earth. Like I said, very interesting theories. He was really close on some stuff! Just really far away on other things. Anyway that pretty much sums up my week! Tomorrow we are starting exchanges with the Waynesboro sisters so that should be fun! I am staying here with Sister Richardson and Sister Wood is going to Waynesboro with Sister Carrigan. I am excited! We seem to have gotten pretty un-dramatic sisters with this latest transfer, so that is really good! My scripture that I really like this week because we have been studying about “finding” is Alma 13:24 " For behold, angels are declaring it unto many at this time in our land; and this is for the purpose of preparing the hearts of the children of men to receive his word at the time of his coming in his glory." I really like this because it lets us know we aren't alone in our efforts! People are being prepared everywhere, we just have to find them. That is the hard part! I hope everyone has a great week and a Happy St. Patricks day!! I love all of you!

P.S.  that picture of the opossum you sent me “YES THAT IS THE “ROUS” that I saw in the dark by the dumpsters!!  They are not cuddly looking animals!  Also I got your package, thanks for the Peanut Butter M&M’s, but Sister Wood does not like Peanut Butter!!  More for me!!  Transfers are coming up on April 1st, ha, ha, April Fools Day, but yes they are seriously on that day!  Hope Grandma gets feeling better.  I am sending a picture of a very interesting Truck I saw, Look for it soon in your Area!! (I should have taped a Book of Mormon on it somewhere) Remember “Always listen to the Holy Ghost, it is our Father in Heaven speaking to us and we must follow the promptings no matter how strange it seems at the time”!

 Love, Sister Price

Oh, Augusta March 10, 2014

                                                                        March 10, 2014

 Hey Everyone!

As usual when we have a good week then we must have our down week, it just seems to go that way!  It started out on Tuesday with all of our appointments canceling. It is always so disappointing when that happens because usually our backup plan is...knocking. It just gets kind of frustrating sometimes. We also haven't been able to get in touch with any of the people who canceled. They won't answer their phones or the door. Oh well we will just have to keep trying. It has also been a rough week for contacting. It's been really hard to find people at home and when we have found them at home they usually don't want to talk to us. You all know that the hardest thing for me is talking to people! It is so stressful for me and sometimes I just dread it. I'm not very good  at it and no one seems to be able to tell me how I can get better! They just say figure it out and I really don't like it when people tell me that.  So I am now requesting for those who read this email and have been missionaries even if it was forever ago I would really love to have you send me some of the door approaches that you remember worked for you, I know there will be some jokester ones but along with those some help please!!  My email again is kaitlyn.price@myldsmail.net  I really would appreciate it!!

Wednesday I was able to get my retainer fixed so that was nice. We also had a really good lesson with George. He was our one investigator who didn't cancel on us. It went really well! He is struggling a little bit with the plan of salvation, mostly with the spirit world but I think he is getting it. He also said that he was reading through the New Testament trying to find out exactly how God wants people to worship him so we gave him that talk you sent me (The Blueprint of Christs Church by Elder Tad Callister)! We go see him again tomorrow so we will find out how he liked the talk! He said he was going to study it. He is a really funny guy. Miles we met while we were knocking and he always says he loves our visits but then he cancels appointments and won't answer the phone so we can't figure him out. Oh and we got a call from the North Augusta sisters and they said that Anthony is going to get baptized on March 29! We are super excited for him. He is super awesome. I am really sad he had to move though! Oh well I might still claim him as a baptism...ha ha. On Friday we had zone training and Sister Wood and I had to give a training on being Disciples of Christ. We found a really fantastic article about President Kimball and how he was a true disciple of Christ. It told a story about how he went to a prison to visit inmates and how he just showed true love to them and didn't condemn them. It was a really great article. Then we talked of how would you be if Christ were your companion? We also talked about having confidence because the Lord has confidence in us. That is something I really struggle with as you all know! Confidence is just one of my weaknesses! Oh well I guess it's something I get to work on. I guess I'm meant to do what Ether 12 says and make my weaknesses become strong! It is going to take some work though!

We are going to start exchanges this week. Our first exchange is with the Grovetown sisters, Sister Griffin and Sister Walker. I am going to go to Grovetown with Sister Griffin and Sister Walker is going to come here with Sister Wood. I am really excited! Our goal is to work on our teaching and testifying and being more bold and talking to everyone! It is going to be difficult but that is how you grow!

You asked in your last letter about my area and said that you and Dad watched an episode of “COPS” filmed just in the last month in RICHMOND COUNTY GEORGIA that is certainly Augusta and all those brick buildings and winding streets are my tracting areas!!  In fact a couple weeks ago when we were knocking doors in one of those red brick apartments and older man came to the door talked with us briefly then said “You young girls should not be out here! Don’t you know they just filmed an episode of COPS right out there!!” We thanked him for his concern and assured him we don’t go out after dark.  At this point I am not picking up any kind of southern drawl Uncle Greg, if anything what I have noticed is that people have a tendency to leave out the “T” in words like “Street”, “Stressed” or “Straight”.  Then they add a “K” so it sounds like “Skreet”, “Skressed” or “Skraight”.  Makes me not feel so bad about our “Layton, Utah” saying “Lay-Un” or “Mou-Un”.  Ways of speech are so interesting.  Also Uncle Greg I have tried Collard greens, I really don’t like them.  I tried to imagine and talk myself into believing they were spinach!  But it is really like not very good at all. Sad story though the fellow that gave me the mustard seed necklace got sick or something I am not exactly sure and he has been in the hospital.  I do hope he is OK.  The other young man that we had to turn over to the Elders for teaching had an Uncle die a few weeks ago and ever since then he has not been around so hopefully if his family has not turned him against things he can be contacted again.

I am trying to pinpoint what I most want to share with the people of Georgia so as to improve my door approach.  But there isn’t just one thing I need to share.  I want to share so many things that have blessed my life.  I have a testimony of the restoration of Christs church in this dispensation, How wonderful is the plan of Salvation,  The blessing of  Modern day prophets-why would god not want us in this day to have that guidance are we not as important as the people in the Bible and Book of Mormon. The great gift of the atonement-that the world was so loved by our Father in Heaven that he sent his son Jesus who also was willing and loved us all past, present and future to take our sins upon him and suffer more than any of us can comprehend, then allow himself to be crucified and let his spirit leave his body.  Then to be resurrected again so that we might all have life after death.  There is so much to share!   I feel so inadequate with my ability to be able to initiate the good message that I have with my lack of confidence in opening a conversation.  Everyone just seems so busy and preoccupied.  I really do feel your prayers on my behalf and I just want you and Dad to know that you are great parents!  I am serving with some good missionaries but in conversation I have come to realize what a great relationship I have with my parents!  I appreciate more than ever your example and your encouragement and your knowledge.  You are pretty great!  I am determined to improve my weakness, I love the scriptures, love my Heavenly Father, love my Savior Jesus Christ.

We are going to work really hard to turn things around this week. One of the scriptures I really loved this week while we were working on our training was 3 Nephi 5:13 "Behold, I am a disciple of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. I have been called of him to declare his word among his people, that they might have everlasting life." That is really what I'm out here trying to do! I know a lot of people don't understand that and I'm not very good at helping people know that's why I'm here when I first meet them but I'm working on it! I have been called to declare his word and I know that I am here for a reason. I know it's true and I just want to help other people see that! Well I love you all and hope you have a great week!

Love,  Sister Price

Awesome week so far in Georgia! March 3, 2014

Hey Everyone!                                                                        March 3, 2014

Holy cow it has been quite the week! Ok so on Monday we tracted for a while and then we went to see one of our less actives Sister Mustafa. She has been a member for quite a while but she is going through a rough time right now. She is raising her granddaughter because her mom is in prison and the granddaughter is quite the handful! She is very opinionated and not shy at all! We joke that she will be an awesome/scary missionary someday! Then Tuesday we went to see how Shae was doing, she got her staples out so she is feeling much better. She is excited because next week she is going to New York to see this new guy her neighbor introduced her to. Then we went and knocked some more! While we were knocking we met youth pastor Caleb. He had some very interesting views on things. He is a youth pastor at First Presbyterian. That is closer to downtown which isn't in our area so I don't know where it is. If it's anything like First Baptist around here though it is probably huge! He was very against the idea of an apostasy, he doesn't think the authority ever left the earth. He also thinks that the priesthood authority goes with the scriptures, so whoever has the scriptures has the authority. Probably why he doesn't like the apostasy idea. We also think he is a little lacking in the faith area. He has a lot of knowledge and he has studied the Bible a lot but he was basing everything on historical facts about whether the bible was true or not. I think he definitely has a strong belief, I just don't think he quite understands the concept of faith. Then we had dinner with a less active family, they fed us spaghetti. It was pretty good. Then we went out with Aubrie! Aubrie is awesome and we love going out with her. We tried to go see Miles but he wasn't home so we decided to go see this guy we knocked into last week who said we could come back. We got there and his wife answered the door and we introduced ourselves and she let us right in! It was crazy because that never happens! She was very interested and we had a really good first discussion. She had a lot of questions, which is awesome. I love when people have sincere questions and they aren't just trying to bash with us. She even invited us back the next day! We then had a really good lesson about the Book of Mormon. She had a lot of questions about that too but it was good! I have noticed that when I bear testimony about the Book of Mormon out here and I say that I "know" it is true people always want to know how I "know" and when I tell them I prayed about it they never look quite satisfied, it's like they want me to tell them I had some great visitation or saw the plates or something. It's very interesting. Oh and one of my favorite scriptures to share when people are doubting the validity of the Book of Mormon is the one in 2 Nephi 29 where it's talking about how people will say "a Bible, a Bible, we need no more Bible" and it freaks Sister Wood out every time! She doesn't like it when I share that scripture with investigators but I love it! I like to share verses 7-10 because it talks about how he is giving these scriptures as second witness and how if he gave his gospel and prophets to one nation, what's stopping him from giving it to a second nation. I just love that chapter! It's one of my favorites. Honestly I have developed a lot of favorite chapters on my mission. Basically the whole Book of Mormon! Anyway we had a really good lesson and she committed to read and pray. Then Thursday was Sister Wood's birthday! Oh and for district meeting on Tuesday I made this really yummy pineapple cake for her birthday and it was super delicious! I will have to send you the recipe because the compound would love it. We didn't have a very exciting day on Thursday, but Friday was fantastic! Friday we went down to Macon for MLC (missionary leadership conference)!  We got to ride with the Stevens Creek sisters who are STL's (sister training leaders) for the North Augusta zone and it was so much fun! I didn't realize how isolated I felt just being around Elder's all the time and not being with Sisters. It was so much fun though! Oh and they had Enya on their ipods so next time I send my ipod back I want some Enya! MLC was so amazing! We had Elder Soares from the presidency of the seventy and Elder Gittons from the seventy talk to us. Elder Soares gave a talk this last conference about being meek. He talked a lot about our calling and how we were pre-ordained to be here doing this at this time in the pre existence. He also talked about how it's our purpose to help people and to help build up the kingdom, not that we are necessarily here just to baptize. I really liked that. He also talked about how the Lord chose us and has confidence in us so we need to have confidence in ourselves! That part was really good for me because you know how I struggle with confidence. He told a story about how on his mission his mission president told him he wanted him to go baptize someone who could be the branch president for the area he was in. He said that in that area he only ended up baptizing one family with nine kids but the dad couldn't read so he wouldn't be able to be branch president. He said he felt like a huge failure because he didn't find a branch president. Well recently in the temple a man came up to him and it was one of the nine kids he had baptized! The man said that seven of his nine siblings served missions and that the branch was now a stake and he had been bishop and stake president and now he was an area seventy so that was a really awesome story! Then he talked about how much the apostles love us and how they are definitely inspired as to where they send us because he has been in the room as they assign mission calls. It was really amazing and all of it was just what I needed to hear! He also talked about how important members are and how we need to be unified in our missionary efforts. Needless to say I was super inspired after the meeting and so I really felt that we needed to go see one of our less-actives, Nick. Nick is my age and he has been baptized for almost a year. When I first met him I kind of thought he was just a punk but it turns out he really does have a great testimony! We really want to help him and get him coming to church again because he would be an awesome Melchizedek priesthood holder and our ward really needs those! Anyway I really felt like we needed to go see Nick and talk about the priesthood. We knew we would be cutting it close driving 2 and a half hours back from Macon and then seeing him but we did it! We called Aubrie and asked if she would share an experience about times when she has had the priesthood in her life and times when she hasn't. We shared an awesome scripture about the priesthood and then we all shared experiences and it was awesome! We were all crying, we made Nick cry and  the spirit was just so strong. We just really wanted to like give him a spiritual kick in the face and I think we succeeded! Sister Wood and I were just proud because we made him cry and feel the spirit! It was awesome! Then we made him commit to come to church on Sunday. Then on Saturday we had tons of fun! We have decided that we want to get sisters from the ward to go on splits with every Saturday so that they are more involved in what we do. This last Saturday we had Sister Ellington go with us and Sister Dransfield. It was tons of fun and I'm really excited to keep doing it! We also decided on Sunday instead of sending around our meal calendar we sent around a calendar that people could sign up to go out with us.(who needs food when you can feast upon the word of Christ)! It worked great and we got new people who signed up! We even got some less actives and recent converts who want to go out so we are really excited for it! Mom good for you to let the missionaries know you were willing to assist them, I hope they take you up on your offer, I know I would.  It’s cool that Dad gave one of them their flu shot! That should make them remember who you are! Ok but now I have to tell you what happened Sunday morning before church. Church starts at 10. We have an early meeting with the ward mission leader at 7:30 so we just stay at the church all morning. It was about 9:00 and we had been trying to call and text Nick but he wasn't answering. So we had this feeling to go knock on his door and wake him up for church! I usually kind of squash those feelings because you know me, it's just not something I would do! Anyway we were still kind of on a spiritual high and super motivated from MLC so we just decided to do it! So we go to his apartment and knock on the door a few times but we get nothing, so I decided to really knock so I basically kind of pounded on the door and apparently that was enough to wake him up and get him down there! His neighbors probably wondered who the crazy people pounding on his door were. He staggers down in his pajamas and we can totally tell he just woke up and by now it is about 9:30 so he asks what time church starts and we tell him 10 and to go hurry up and get dressed so he does and comes to church! Then he sat by us and Sister Wood convinced him to go up and bear his testimony! She told him "go up and bear your testimony, you'll like it!" I couldn't believe she said that to him! Anyway he did and he told the whole ward that we pounded on his door and woke him up for church! We were sitting up on the stand because we also coerced Shae to bear her testimony but she said she only would if we did and we were like well we are missionaries so of course we will! So we were up on the stand when he announced to the whole ward that we woke him up. But he gave a really good testimony. Then we were talking to him later and he was like "ya your were like some really angry ex-girlfriends." So now we are the sister missionaries who pound on your door to wake you up like really angry ex-girlfriends. It was super hilarious and I really wish we could have recorded the whole thing. People were really happy to see him at church and it was really good! Then we even got him to come to the Meachams last night so we could watch the CES fireside with him! It was really good. They talked about the Holy Ghost and how to recognize promptings. Next week we have to give a training at zone meeting, and we are teaching Sunday School so it will continue to be a busy week! I am going to use the talk you sent me by Elder Callister on the “BluePrint of Christs Church” in part of my training.  I love how he uses the bible as well as the Book of Mormon on what Christs church was in the beginning.  You have to really know your Bible as well as your Book of Mormon out here! Then the week after that we start exchanges so this transfer is just going to fly by! Ok I think I got most of my week in here. It was a pretty awesome week! We are going to get Nick active again so he can have the priesthood if we have to drag him everywhere! ha ha. Probably the best week of my mission so far!

Our new bishopric here is really on FIRE! We have been invited to attend a big ward leadership meeting this week.  The leadership are going to finally put together a Ward mission Statement! I have my trusty Evans meadows statement so hopefully there can be one put together that will fit with this ward just right! It is so important to have a unifying statement, it certainly helps all the ward to really come together with a single purpose. Not only to spread the gospel but to help the ward and it members become stronger and “OF ONE HEART and ONE MIND, Moses 7:18! Members just have to break out of their circle here and get acquainted, we are the minority and it is intimidating most of the time.  I have found that satan has much more of a hold on these people in the South than they think he does. The people are good people and he isn’t leading them to do really bad things! He is just keeping them “confused” enough that they don’t recognize the truth when they hear it.  He really is the great deceiver!

I hope all of you are doing well back home. I love you all and am grateful for your support! Thank you to Sis. Severe and Amanda good luck with Calculus! If you need my Dads big old brain you know where he is!  I feel your prayers, isn’t prayer the greatest, its so much faster than any cell phone or tweet or text! Prayer also keeps us out of trouble!  Especially thanks Grandpa Clark for your special prayers on my behalf! (another long letter Uncle Dan!)
