Ok so this week has not been nearly as stressful as last week. The new Elders we got in are Elder Poti, who is zone leader with Elder Eklof, Elder Ah Fook, who is with Elder Judson and Elder Brooks who is with Elder Newman. We are really excited for Elder Poti! He used to be in this zone, he was just down in Waynesboro, he is super awesome! He seems to get along really well with Elder Eklof and so far things have been really good! Man I am sitting here typing and Sister Wood and I just turned to each other and said "wow we can't even remember what happened last week." Ok so Monday our appointment with Anthony (he has the 5 year old daughter) fell through so we just ended up tracting and trying to visit less actives. Shae had her surgery two weeks ago and that went really well, the Dr also found a hernia he fixed while he was in there. She is still pretty sore but she is recovering well. We have been to visit her a few times and we got her really excited about geneology! We showed her the family history website and she says she is going to work on it while she recovers. Then on Tuesday we helped an old lady with her yard. Then we went out with a girl named Aubrie she is 26 and use to be inactive, met the missionaries while she was stationed in California and is active again! Aubrie is really great and goes out with us all the time. We went and tried to see a few people who weren't home and then we went and saw Miles. He is a funny guy. We taught him and committed him to be baptized like a month ago but we haven't been able to see him much since and he hasn't come to church! He always gives excuses but we have awesome lessons with him so he confuses me! Then on Wednesday we taught George. He is the one from Nigeria. He is so funny! He is actually very open he just has tons of questions. We finally got through all of the Restoration! We had actually planned to teach Plan of Salvation because his question last time was what we believe about life after death but that lesson didn't happen. He says he is going to come check out our church in the next couple weeks. He is really funny but he really does have lots of good questions. He wants to know why, if the Book of Mormon is from God, why other religions haven't accepted it and why the whole world doesn't have it! We told him that’s what we are trying to do as missionaries from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints! Then on Thursday we had a lesson with Anthony, sad news! He told us that he is moving to North Augusta this week! We are so sad because he also told us he is applying for a new job so he can come to church on Sundays! He also basically said he knows the church is true and we have taught him almost everything. We let the North Augusta sisters know and we sent his teaching record so they are getting a really awesome investigator! We told them how awesome he is and how they need to send us pictures when he gets baptized! Then Friday we visited Shae and mostly just tracted all day. We are basically just starting over tracting our area because I have pretty much been everywhere here! Saturday we saw Sister Keel. She is really cool and its always like a confidence boost to see her because she loves missionaries! Then yesterday church was really good. They called a new assistant ward mission leader and I am really excited to work with the new people! Sister Wood and I have come up with some new things we want to try when we contact people. That is probably what I struggle with! I love teaching lessons but I am not as brave as I want to be when I contact people. Oh and we got two new sets of sisters in the zone, one in Waynesboro and one in Grovetown so we are excited to work with them. We get to go to MLC on Friday which is Missionary Leadership Conference so we are excited for that. I guess there is a member from the Presidency of the Seventy or something who is going to be there to talk to us so that will be fun. My scripture for the week is Alma 5:44-47 “For I am called to speak after this manner, according to the holy order of God, which is in Christ Jesus; yea, I am commanded to stand and testify unto this people the things which have been spoken by our fathers concerning the things which are to come.”
“And
this is not all. Do ye not suppose that
I know of these things myself? Behold, I testify unto you that I do know that
these things whereof I have spoken are true.
And how do ye suppose that I know of their surety?”
“Behold,
I say unto you they are made known unto me by the Holy Spirit of God. Behold, I have fasted and prayed many days
that I might know these things of myself.
And now I do know of myself that they are true; for the Lord God hath
made them manifest unto me by his Holy Spirit; and this is the spirit of
revelation which is in me.”
“And
moreover, I say unto you that it has been revealed unto me, that the words
which have been spoken by our fathers are true, even so according to the spirit
of prophecy which is in me, which is also by the manifestation of the Spirit of
God.” You
were worried and asking me how my testimony is Mom, as I knock on doors and am
rejected again and again but I want to assure you that my testimony is good and
grows stronger with each day. I do have
an assignment for you Mom! You are to make an appointment and go out with the
Sister Missionaries in your area, I think that would be great! I think you would be just fine in bearing
your testimony of the Gospel if it was needed!
I know that when the members here go with us it makes all the difference
although some of the members are hesitant to share their testimonies. I really
love my companion Sister Wood, I have a lot to learn being a Sister Training
Leader, I love teaching and helping those that accept more about our Savior
Jesus Christ and building upon their foundation and belief in Christ. That is
about all of the happenings in Georgia! I love hearing from the Ward back home,
Thank you Bishop England. Oh it has been really warm this week, lets
just say I am not looking forward to summer! Thanks for everyone's support and
I love you all!
Love,
Sister Price
